Surmani Bhimanna Jadhav, reknowned Ace Sundari Player. The legendary Sundari Maestro, a man who believes “Sur Hi Ishwar Hai”/ “Music is God”. By virtue of his phenomenal talent he and Sundari are literally synonymous.
Bhimanna is born on 31st May 1978, and he was introduced the little ‘Sundari’ when he was all of 4 years old. He received training from his Grand Father Late Sidram Jadhav and Father - Pt.Chidanand Jadhav. He made his public debut at the age of 7 years and his first broadcast for Yuvavani- All India Radio, Solapur was in the year 1991.Now He has started training from Pt. Vijay Sambhayal & Pt. Rajendra Prasanna
Sundari - A Wind Instrument This musical instrument is known as the younger sister of ‘Shehanai’ but it is shorter in size then Shahanai. Sundari is a rare and unique and is limited to Jadhav Family only. This Unique Sundari was founded by Late Baburao Jadhav in 1928. Thereafter Late Sidram Jadhav was placed Sundari in Indian Classical Instrument with honour. Late Sidram Jadhav is Grandfather of Bhimanna Jadhav. A Unique family in India who was founded, enhanced and propagating the Sundari through their 4th generation.
Bhimanna’s incredible range of achievements includes innumerable performances in India’s most prestigious venue’s such as “Rashtrapati Bhavan,” New Delhi, Tanesn Samaroha, Gwalior, Festival of Rare Indian Music Instrument, Bhopal, Savai Gandharv Sangeet Mahostav, Pune, Swarn Sangeet Prathibha, Jaipur. Besides this, he has performed National Live Concerts on All India Radio, Bhopal and Live Shows on DD-1 (Doordarshan).
Bhimanna Jadhav won most prestigious – 'Akashwani Award- A.I.R. Musical Competition, Pune'. He has also won “First Prize in Yuva Sangeet Mahostav, Guntur from 4 States
Bhimanna Jadhav has been bestowed with the prestigious ‘Suramani Award’ by Sursingar Society, Mumbai.He & his Party got empanelled as a "Reference Artist Of Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR)" to be sent abroad as an Indian Cultural Delegate to represent Indian Culture ,Indian Music,Indian Fine Art Of Sundari Vadan . He has also get awarded by 'BharatRatna Ustad Bism illa Khan Yuva Award' Organized by Central Sangeet Natak Academy,Delhi
Bhimanna has honoured Scholarship from C.C.R.T., Delhi, W.Z.C.C. Udaipur, Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet Academy, Bhopal. He has bequeathed Teacher Fellowship of “Guru-Shishya Parampara” from Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi & also from South Central Zone Cultural Center,Nagpur . He has also honoured with Fellowship as Student for “Guru-Shishya Parampara” from W.Z.C.C. Rajasthan and as Asst. Teacher for “Guru- Shishya Parampara” from Department of Cultural, Maharashtra Govt. He has honoured with Young Talent Fellowship & Junior Fellowship from Department of Cultural, New Delhi. Bhimanna has also awarded with ‘B High’ Grade from All India Radio.
For Propagating & Enhancing Sundari, Bhimanna has organized 2 days Seminar on Sundari at Solapur in 2006. Bhimanna & his group is selected for Empanelment in the ICCR’s Reference Panel of Artists for performances abroad. Bhimanna has organized 2 days Seminar on Sundari at Solapur in 2006 for Propagating & Enhancing Sundari. The Seminar’s Clippings were shown on Television News Channels and news published all over India. He has also conducting Training Programmes to create new artists in Sundari.
Suramani Bhimanna Jadhav has proposed to compose and record his first Audio CD of Sundari Vadan which will be released soon in which he has played Raagas & Karnataka Kajari. It is first time in Indian Classical Music Instruments, to try & play Karnataka Kajari.
