Avijit Ghosh [Senia Maihar Gharana]

A young and talented musician of Senia Maihar Gharana. A senior disciple of Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumder, has done his M.A in Music from Rabindra Bharati University (Gold Medalist). Avijit has won first prize in All India Radio Music competition in instrumental music in 1998 and is a recipient of President's Gold Medal.

Avijit is a B-high grade artist of AIR and T.V and also an Empanelled Artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi. He also works as an external examiner of Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. He has received 'Jadubhatta Puraskar' given by Salt Lake Cultural Association.

Currently he is doing his PhD on musical instrument 'Sarod' from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata and is the first Indian Musician to perform at the Rainforest World Music Festival at Sarawak, Malaysia.
