Journey of Dance...
Sarvani has been practicing dance from the age of five. She started the divine dance form- Kuchipudi, classical dance form of Andhra Pradesh under Sri Rajaram garu. Later she got trained by brilliant guru "sri. Vedantam Radhey shyam garu", in sidhendra kala kshetram, Kuchipudi (Kuchelapuram) where this dance form was originated. She took a break at the age of fifteen and after completing her engineering from Bits, Pilani, she continued her dancing and got trained under Smt. Padmasree Sobha Naidu garu in Srinivasa Art Academy, Hyderabad. Then, she moved to Delhi and added more elegance to her dance by learning more techniques of dancing from Gurus Smt. Seetha Nagajothy & Sri P.Nagajothy.
She started giving stage performances at a tender age of seven and gave many stage shows, TV shows and participated in several dance competitions. With constant support of her mother, she was able to perform the classical items choreographed by Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam garu all over India. She acted as prahlada in "Prahlada Pattabhishekam" ballet in Vedantam Radheyshyam garu’s troupe in many shows and is even a part of many Spic Micay Shows & dance festivals. She also performed in many other ballets like usha parinayam, Srinivasa Kalyanam etc and you can even see her in "Sadhana" program telecasted in SVBC channel where she presented" Bho Shambho, Brindavana nilaye" and even is a part of the title song.
One of her recent performances is in the inauguration ceremony of Common Wealth Games -2010 along with Dr. Raja & Radha Reddy’s troupe in "Tree of Knowledge Segment" showcasing Guru Shishya parampara. The performance is an amalgamation of six classical dance forms- Odissi, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Manipuri, Mohiniattam and Kuchipudi representing six different seasons. Sarvani is a part of the Kuchipudi troupe representing winter season leading the fusion part performed by all the six different classical dance styles.
On the other side, she is now working in BHEL and even was a very active participant during her engineering days and led the chemical engineering association in 2006-2007 as a secretary. She was also vice-president-chemical, Bits, Embryo for 2006-2007. She was the receipient of "Monalidey Award" given to the best chemical engineering student with due consideration to the academics as well as extracurricular excellence from Bits, Pilani. She is even a recipient of Pratibha award for securing State 6th position in Intermediate in Andhra Pradesh and Best paper award in University-Industry linkages conducted by Bits, Pilani. She is a receipient of Pratibha scholarship for getting admission in a national level university and merit cum need scholarship from Bits, Pilani for excelling in academics. Sarvani is a versatile female with good academic background, good dancing, singing as well as managerial skills.
With an intention to learn and know more about Kuchipudi and to present this dance form in her unique style, she is heading towards reaching her goal with a hope to lead her whole life in this world of dancing. May God bless her in learning, dancing and teaching to the tune of nature.
