Ku. Bhavya born in the year 1986 started to learn Bharatnatyam Dance at the age of 4 years. After taking training from her Guru Nritya Vibhooshan Shri G. Rateesh Babu, disciple of Shri Adyar Lakshman. At the age of 12 she has started giving stage performance in Bharatnatyam Dance organized by Utkal Sanskrutik Sangh, Cuttack and bagged Chairman’s Award. She has staged her ‘Arangetram’ performance of Bharatnatyam in the year 2000.
Gained confidence, she never looked back and trained in Classical Dance -Bharatnatyam, Kuchippudi & Mohiniyattam Dance. She toured all over India and participated in various National level Competitions and bagged more than 100 Prizes in Classical Dance. She is one of the topmost Classical Dancers of Central India - Chhattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh region. She is born & brought up in Bhilai the proud city of Chhattisgarh.
Looking to the excellent performance in Kuchippudi dance she has been conferred with various National Level prestigious Awards. To name a few – Gopi Krishna Awardin Bharatnatyam by All India Artists Association Shimla, Nritya Bhooshan Award in Kuchipudi by Utkal Sanskrutik Sangh, Cuttack, Natya Mayoori Award (Twice– in 2003 & 2004) in Kuchipdi Dance from Kalanilayam, Guntur(AP), Kala Tilak Award consecutively for 3 Years ) by Kerala Samajam, Durg, Nrityashree Award by the All India Sanskritik Sangh, Pune, (MS) (2006 ) stands to her credit.She is an empanelled artist of ICCR. Govt of Inadia and now working with Indian railways Chennai as a Bharathanatyam artist.
She has represented in the National Youth Festivals (9th,10th & 11th ) organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt of India and bagged 3rd Prize in KUCHIPUDI Dance and Cash Award of Rs.3000/- consecutively for 2 years in 2004 & 2005.
In the 11th National Youth Festival held(2006) at Patna, representing Chhattisgarh State she bagged Ist Prize and cash award of Rs. 6000/-.
Govt. of Chhattisgarh has in recognition of her excellent performance in Classical Dance honored her with GOLD Medal and cash Award of Rs.15000/- in the year 2007.
Above all, she has been selected for Empanelment in the ICCR(Indian Council for Cultural Relations) Reference Panel of Artists in Bharatnatyam Dance by the Govt. of India for giving performance in the sponsored programmes in Foreign Countries.
Ku. Bhavya has given performance in more than 400 Stage Programmes all over India in various Cities in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh & Chhattisgarh.
Her ambition is to devote her life fully to the Artistic Culture and promote Classical Dance Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi & Mohiniyattam in India & abroad. She believes all the credits of her achievements in Classical Dance goes to her Guru Nritya Vibhooshan G. Ratheesh Babu, a disciple of Adyar Lakshman.
Ku. Bhavya, has done her Ko-Vid(Final) from Indira Kala Vishwa Vidyalaya, Khairagarh(CG) and took MBA(Specialisation in HR and Finance from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Vivekananda Technical University, Chhattisgarh . She is the daughter of Mrs. Kamalamma & N.N. Kutty.
